ranting like a twat about SPOOOOORRRRTTTTSSS
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm okay so ‘I wish footballers would act more like Olympians’ blah blah fucking grrrrr fucking arse.. yes I remember that.. you see I’d like that too, or rather I would like them to be left alone enough to have a life with some semblance of normality. So if the popular media could manage it so they only reported about the game and the sports we’d all be a lot better off, excepting perhaps the top players who might not be worth quite so much if we take away the shiny paper and the shimmy of godlike fame.
Anyway so the olympians.. and now paralympians they are great aren’t they? Plucky amateurs (shhhh about elitism you big bads) … HOW MANY CONDOMS WILL BE USED DURING THE OLYMPICS AND PARALYMPICS :| because apart from a minor sociological interest which I don’t deny and well done to the people studying sex and sport and sex and sport and disability as there will still be people out there who didn’t even THINK people with disabilities would be up to “naughtys” this is pure tabloidism. The C4 blog is totes with it with its ‘sweaty stumps on tender dwarf flesh’ but do we really feel the need to normalise disability with the cry of ’ they have sex you know?’ ” does he take sugar? ” ….is this the same coin in a different year of minting? So anyway ranting very rarely has a point, see the comments under any online news article to be sure of that but what I’m trying to say is this:
Once celebrity has its hold over someone be they footballer or swimmer they become a product of the media coverage they need to show a certain thing to be a certain way as well as all the actual work, if we really value our athletes we want them to do well of course we do, but we are already guilty of creating our ego monster footballers yes we want our gold medalists on adverts and its all dreamy and lovely but we all know what happens the media will say, enough, we must hate this person now, look at them! look at what they have become, that EGO.. Mo Farrah hasn’t an egotistical bone in this body and isn’t that marvy but that other bloody wonderful runner Usain Bolt we are allowed to hate him he’s got an ego, hes a twat he is up himself. He runs very fast they both do, they are both bloody bloody amazing. Lets remember that, bloody rightful amazing heroes. If one fits in more with your ideal of Olympian perhaps this stems from the ancient games which where in part a religious festival, and though religion is long gone, the spirit of the games is something we hear about every four years, literally in this case every Olympiad. I adore sport and the olympics but the football bating was terrible, they earn too much they are rubbish they aren’t as good as these athletes etc etc, possibly so, but that is more about people hating people who they think earn too much, its a very odd thing. I suppose the aristocracy don’t get mentioned as much in the chavvy news these days so have fallen off the angry jumped up twattery radar.
I know we can’t celebrate sport for what we wish it was only for what it is, the olympics and (hopefully as they’ve yet to start) Paralympics gave many a brief glimpse of the variety of wonderful things wonderful people (and some horses) are doing, but it is as it always was even back when it was a religious celebration its a big shiny glitzy show, there was sex even then especially as a lot of the events would be performed naked and almost all training was. So the thinking about all the fucking is nothing new.
I know the athletes need publicity so we can get behind them and of course they deserve it, so as well as knowing about how marvellous they are at their discipline of course we NEED to know if they are fucking, nothing disrespectful in it after all. We are all normalised by the fact that we are fucking or fuckable at the least. Back stories are nice too arent they? Its not enough these days to be bloody amazing we need to deliver good copy, its very disheartening in that all this ever was it is inevitable predictable and sad. I guess ancient competitors had their Pindaric odes about how fast they ran and how popular they where, nice hair? things like that? I just hope we can keep everything nice and about the sports :)))) gosh I love the sports. I love the game of football too, the beautiful game. I also love a bit of gossip, Prince Harry has a fine arse on him, and him not being quite the athlete i also enjoyed the chaps with boners photos of the games.
*whispers* legacy…….
but do do do do do do PLEASE Channel 4 focus on the spoorrrrrrrtttttssssssssss :) the BBC almost did, you could flick from a magazine style piece of pap to another ACTUAL sport with ease.

Fry & Laurie :)
“There is about great friendships between man and man…a certain inevitability that can only be compared with the age-old association of ham and eggs. No one can say when it was that these two wholesome and palatable foodstuffs first came together, nor what was the mutual magnetism that brought their deathless partnership about. One simply feels that it is one of the things that must be so…We simply say ‘these men are friends’ and leave it at that.”
